When we are talking about pavement, we are not just talking about any concrete structure. Concrete pavers are distinctive from other concrete structures because the pavers are used on the ground to transport material. Similar to poured concrete sidewalks, except we are using pavers.

Which type of pavers that you use is up to you. However, one type of pavement that you should consider is flagstone. This is a natural stone that gives your pavement structure a natural look to it. Or you can stick to grey concrete bricks which are simple and effective.
Constructing a pavement using concrete pavers is not anymore different to constructing any other concrete structure. The first aspect of constructing a pavement or any concrete structure is to have a strong foundation. You have to have an area dug up and filled with gravel or sand before creating a form to pour the concrete foundation in. Then the pavers are laid on top of the concrete foundation in single file until you have the concrete pavers level to your desire.
The reason to have that foundation is to prevent the pavers sinking in the ground. However, the risk here is that the project can be done incorrectly and it will be difficult to get the paver to the correct height if the paver becomes stuck and is not level.
However, many people choose to have a different type of foundation. To save money, an area is dug up, a plate compactor comes and flattens the dug up area with gravel on top and then the stones are laid in a straight line until you have your concrete structure. However, you still have to use the plate compactor on the concrete pavers before you are finished.
The main advantage that concrete pavers gives over pouring concrete is time. With concrete pavers, you do not have to necessarily wait until the concrete is dry to finish the project. It is a matter of making sure every part of the construction is level before laying your pavers. This can be done within one day at the most.
Whereas with pouring concrete, you have to wait a minimum of 24-48 hours before the concrete dries out. Combine that with having to add other materials such as mesh and creating joints; pouring concrete is a time intensive process compared to laying pavers in the ground.
